Ceramic Pressing and Assembly

Job Description

This is based in the Ceramics Department of Operations. Activities focus on pressing and assembling various ceramic components and parts.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Weigh specified quantities of material based on manufacturing orders and process instructions for processing
  • Load, operate, and unload manual and semi-automatic presses with ceramic material to produce a variety of ceramic shapes and configurations
  • Clean and de-flash pressed product prior to final processing
  • Load, operate, and unload ceramic dryers and kilns
  • Inspect products for potential defects
  • Assemble different ceramic components into final products
  • Perform additional duties as needed related to ceramics processing
  • Utilize a material handling equipment to transport material between areas within production area, including pallet jacks, dollies, etc.
  • Operate all equipment in safe and orderly manner
  • Maintain clean and organized work space
  • Train additional staff as needed to perform warehouse duties


  • 1-2 years of experience operating hydraulic or other industrial equipment preferred
  • Ability to use scales and other measuring devices for weighing and sorting material
  • Must be able to read blueprints, CAD drawings, sketches, and written instructions
  • Above average math and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must show proof of US working eligibility
