Warehouse Inventory Specialist

Job Description

This is a Warehouse position with a focus on cycle counting, shipping, receiving, material handling, and picking parts for manufacturing and customer orders. The individual will work directly with the Operations department, including Planning/Scheduling, Purchasing, and Production.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Utilize computer system to identify locations of parts and components for manufacturing and customer sales orders
  • Perform cycle counts and investigate discrepancies in inventory accuracy
  • Maintain integrity and accuracy of raw materials, work-in-process, and finished good inventory in warehouse
  • Pick parts required for manufacturing orders and deliver them to the necessary work stations
  • Pick customer sales order parts and components and pack them using corrugated boxes, wooden crates and containers, and various other packing tools and media so that products can be shipped to customers without damage
  • Assist with the construction of crates and packaging containers as needed for odd and uniquely configured products for safe delivery to customers shipping on common carriers
  • Receive incoming materials, complete computer receiving system transactions, and locate materials into stock locations
  • Utilize a material handling equipment to transport material between work centers and areas within production area, including pallet jacks, fork lift, reach truck, dollies, etc.
  • Operate equipment in a safe and orderly manner
  • Maintain clean and organized work space
  • Train additional staff as needed to perform warehouse duties
  • Perform additional warehouse duties as needed

Skills/Qualifications/Requirements

  • 1-2 years to warehouse experience, including fork lift experience and training
  • Fork lift certification preferred but not required – must be able to complete fork lift certification course as specified by company
  • Basic computer skills and ability to learn different transaction processes using the computer
  • Above average math and organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
  • Ability to work independently and within a team
  • Ability to work and communicate with all levels of the organization
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift up to 40 pounds
  • Must be US citizen
