Selas Ultra Low Nox burners satisfy the worldwide regulation for low NOx emission with nitrogen oxide emission of less than 25 ppmv (50 mg/Nm3 referenced to 3% Oxygen dry flue products). It also provides superior heating uniformity where the flame develops along the wall, emanating from the burner tip. The flat flame tip is designed to give a wall-hugging flame of minimum thickness. Flames are confined to the immediate vicinity of the hotface ,thereby protecting the alloy tubes in front from flame impingement. This lowers maintenance costs since the uniform tube temperature increases process tube life and decreases coking. This ultra low NOx burner is suitable for furnaces with brick or fiber walls, of varying thickness. Silencers and other accessories are available for Selas Ultra Low NOX burners.
In most instances, replacement of existing burners with Selas low NOx burners is simple. Certain installations use burner cups while others use burner tile.
Selas burners are also easy to maintain without shutting down the furnace. Fuel to an individual burner can be shut off and the burner loosened and removed from outside the furnace. A spare burner can then be inserted while the removed burner is serviced.

Series K988 Low NOx Inspirator Wall Burner Technical Features
Capacity: The nominal firing rate of the K988-501 L ULNx Burner is 1,350,000 Btu/h, LHV (396 KW) with primary and secondary air, and a furnace draft at least 0.2" W.C. (50PA). Typically the operating fuel pressure is 20 psig (1.4 bar, gauge) and turndown is 3:1.
Construction: Features a compound inspirating venturi which delivers lean and rich premix to the stage tip. The complete assembly is bolted against the casing wall. Control is achieved with only two valves; an air shutter supplied by Selas and a fuel valve supplied by the end user to fit a 3/4" NPT gas inlet. Wall thickness is an option which is incorporated into the design.
Noise: Low NOx burners can be operated without a silencer. However, to meet OSHA noise standards, silencers are available as optional equipment.
NOx Emission: Low NOx burners produce remarkably low emissions of nitrogen oxide, less than 25 ppmv (50 mg/Nm3 referenced to 3% 02 dry flue products) depending on excess air, furnace temperature and other variables.
